Mackenzie

2014 was the year when our team started a robot naming tradition when a friend of the team, Mackenzie, was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. She was 15 years old at the time, and required a bone marrow transplant to treat her rapidly worsening condition.  We wanted to show our support and help her find a match, so we named our robot after her and shared her story.  Mackenzie was thankfully able to find a match and make a recovery, but we wanted to continue to help others.  Every year since then, we have named our robot after a different person in need of a stem cell transplant.
